State police, Chambersburg Burglary: Someone took gas from a tank between Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday: at Penn National Inn and Golf Club, 3809 Anthony Highway, Fayetteville. Accident: Joseph Cook, Waynesboro, was traveling on Mentzer Gap Road in Quincy Township at 8:50 a.m.

Tuesday when his vehicle caught fire. A vehicle driven by Todd B. Shoemaker, 16, Chambersburg, collided with a vehicle driven by Mitchell G. Powell, 30, Greencastle, at 5:55 p.m. Monday at Stone Bridge and Guitner roads, Greencastle.

Shoemaker did not stop at a stop sign on Stone Bridge Road and drove into the path of Powell. Donald S. Silkowski, 16, Greencastle, lost control of 1986 Ford truck at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday on Racetrack Road in St. Thomas Township.

The truck struck an embankment. A 1982 Chrysler driven by Ronald Keith, 47, Chambersburg, collided with a 1993 Chevrolet driven by Clyde McMullen, 39, Dry Run, at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday at McKinley Street and Shady Side Drive in Guilford Township. Keith drove from a stop sign into the path of McMullen. A vehicle driven by Daniel Baer, Greencastle, struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Sally Funk, Waynesboro, at 7:47 a.m.

Wednesday along Pa. 316 in Guilford Township. Funk was waiting to turn left. A 1994 Oldsmobile driven by Leslie Rosenberry, Willow Hill, collided with a 1988. Jeep driven by Judy Varner, Newburg, at 4:39 p.m.

Wednesday at Lurgan and Tanyard Hill roads in Lurgan Township. Rosenberry drove from a stop sign into the path of Varner. Washington Township Charged: Bimini Howard, 32, Germantown, with passing bad checks at 3:13 p.m. Feb. 3.

Waynesboro Accident: A 1990 Nissan driven by Christopher M. Eaton, 22, of 290 W. Second Waynesboro, struck a 1986 Volkswagen owned by Robert R. Klint, 330 Fairview Waynesboro, while it was parked in front of his home. The Volkswagen was pushed into a 1982 Dodge owned by Debra B.

Harold N. Plum Needmore Harold N. Plum, 68, of HCR 81, Needmore, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 1995, at home. Born Sept.

11, 1926, in Upton, he was a son of the late Paul O. and Isabelle Martin Plum. He was a former employee of Letterkenny Army Depot; Loewengart Mercersburg; and E.F. Goetz Construction Chambersburg. In 1992, he retired from Farmers Union Co-op of Greencastle.

He also farmed in the Mercersburg area. At the time of his death, he was involved in the operation of his son's farm in Needmore. A U.S. Army veteran, he served during World War II. He was an avid hunter.

Surviving are his wife, Grace Miller Plum, whom he married Oct. 16, 1948; a daughter, Donna (Mrs. Robert) Johnson of Cove Gap; four sons, Gary L. and Michael both of Mercersburg, Steven D. of Hustontown and Gerald J.

of Needmore; a stepdaughter, Margaret (Mrs. Merle) Leab of Fort Loudon; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and five brothers, Ralph of Waynesboro, Mercersburg, Dean of Washington, Donald of Chambersburg and Minor of Greencastle. He was preceded in death by a son, a sister and two brothers. Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight in the funeral home. Edmond M. Reed Sr. Waynesboro Edmond M. "Ed" Reed 73, of 10800 Country Club Road, Waynesboro, was pronounced dead at 12:25 a.m.

Wednesday, April 12, 1995, in the emergency room of Waynesboro Hospital. In failing health for the past two years, he died of a massive heart attack. Born Jan. 14, 1922, at Roxbury, he was a son of the late Melvin S. and Dorcas V.

Nunemaker Reed. He lived all his life in the Waynesboro area. He was a 1939 graduate of the former Quincy High School. He was employed at Hess Manufacturing, Quincy; Greencastle Coach; and Mack Trucks, Hagerstown, where he worked for more than 20 years before retiring in 1984. Following retirement, he worked part time at the Owls Club campgrounds as the caretaker.

He attended Fairview Avenue Brethren in Christ Church, Waynesboro, and was a member of Order of the Owls Nest 1073, Eagles Club Fraternal Order of Eagles 1758, and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1191, all of Waynesboro. Surviving are his wife, Louella J. Kauffman Reed, whom he married Sept. 2, 1944; a daughter, Pamela S. Mitchell of Rouzerville; two sons, Edmond M.

Jr. of Mont Alto and John W. of Waynesboro; four grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; a great-grandson; 10 stepgre stepgreat-grandchildren; five sisters, Charlotte Mong of Smithsburg, Gladys Staley, Pauline Ford, Irene Kendall and Martha Carbaugh, all of Waynesboro; and a brother, Levi Reed of Shippensburg. A sister and a brother preceded him in death. Service will be at 11 a.m.

Price Shade Gap Ada May Price, 91, of Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia, and formerly of Shade Gap, died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 1995, in Lewistown Hospital. Born May 22, 1903, in Tell Township, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Clayton H.

and Eva Briggs Kling. She was a member of Nossville United Brethren Church; Mount Union Chapter 280, Order of Eastern Star; and Tuscarora Valley Grange 2042. She retired from Southern Huntingdon County School District after more than 40 years as an elementary teacher at Shade Gap Elementary School, Spring Farms Elementary School, and one-room schools in earlier years. Her first husband, Orville Sparr, died in March 1936. Her second husband, the Rev.

Arthur Price, died in April 1967. Surviving are four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a son, six brothers and eight sisters. Service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Nossville United Methodist Church near Blairs Mills.

Joan E. Ulrich Fayetteville Joan E. Ulrich, 48, of 1279 Ridge Road, Fayetteville, died Tuesday, April 11, 1995, as the result of a car and tractor-trailer accident on U.S. 30 in Guilford Township. Born Sept.

8, 1946, in Carlisle, she was a daughter of Dora E. Rotz Evans of Fayetteville and the late John F. Evans. She was a certified nursing assistant at Franklin County Nursing Home for 10 years. From 1967 to 1978, she worked at J.

Schoeneman Co. She attended Greenwood Assembly of God. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Gerald T. Ulrich, whom she married Nov. 19, 1990; two daughters, Barbara A.

Vanpelt of Chambersburg and Beth A. Hassler of St. Thomas; a son, Steven R. Vanpelt of Fayetteville; a stepdaughter, Barbara Leedy of Newburg; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four sisters, her twin Jane C. Evans, Shirley (Mrs.

James) Beecher, and Susan (Mrs. William) Naugle, all of Fayetteville, and Linda Hoke of Marion; three brothers, Lester L. Evans of Apopka, John S. Evans of Fayetteville, and Richard W. Evans of Wrightsville; and nieces and nephews.

Brickey Fredericksburg, Va. Barbara Ann Wells Brickey, 26, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, April 3, 1995, in Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, of complications after surgery.

Born Sept. 14, 1968, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Barbara Ann Wells Marion and William Wells of Manassas, Va. She attended Shalom Christian Academy near Marion, and graduated from Chambersburg Area Senior High School. She worked for the Rappahannock Area Community Services Board Virginia as a respite provider. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, William Anthony Brickey; two sons, Chad and Tyler, and a daughter, Lyndsay, all at home; a brother, Michael Wells of Warrenton; a stepsister, Kim McClain of Paris, and maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Byrne of Greencastle.

The service was April 7 at Mullins Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, with Pastor Charles Olivieri officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fredericksburg. Douglas Orr Chambersburg Douglas Orr, 52, of 4727 White Church Road, died at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 1995, in Leader Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born Nov. 19, 1942, in Hartford, he was a son of the late James and Virginia Hunter Orr. A 1960 graduate of Altoona High School, he earned a bachelor's degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1965, and obtained his master's degree in English from Shippensburg University in 1981.

An English teacher in Chambersburg Area School District for 21 years, he retired in 1987. Later, he was employed by Penn Laurel Girl Scout Council for seven years. He was a Protestant and was a member of Chambersburg Club and Fayetteville Athletic Association. Surviving are a companion, Janet McMullen of 4727 07 White Church Road; two sons, David H. of 2011 Chestnut Philadelphia, and Carl D.

of 3173 18th N.W., Washington, D.C.; and a brother, John H. of Fourth Avenue, Altoona. Committal service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Alto Reste Cemetery Chapel, Altoona. Burial will be in the Alto Reste Cemetery.

Donald C. Beck Chambersburg Retired Army Col. Donald C. Beck, 83, of 275 Edgewater Drive, died at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 1995, at home.

Born July 11, 1911, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late John Ross and Margaret Mary Motherwell Beck. As a youth, he had lived in Fort Wayne, Ind. He and his wife retired to Chambersburg in 1972. Col. Beck served 32 years in the U.S.

Army, retiring in 1966. From 1957 to 1960, he was stationed at Letterkenny Army Depot. A 1934 graduate of Purdue University, West Lafayette, he earned a degree in industrial management. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, BPOElks 600, and Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 Veterans of Foreign Wars, all of Chambersburg; Detrich-Brechbill Post 612 American Legion, St.

Thomas; Retired Officers Association and the Purdue Alumni Association of Indiana. He received the American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Legion of Merit. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Anne Mavity Beck, who died Nov. 23, 1991, and by a son, John Joseph Beck, who died Dec. 3, 1990.

Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen B. I Leder of New York City; a son, Patrick C. of Fort Wayne, and six grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Mondavi in Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
